Did you know…

The village sits on the border of the New Forest in Hampshire, known for its natural beauty and splendour. The small village of Dibden Purlieu has recorded history as far back as 1086. Within these records, the village was referred to as a valley. During this time, England was populated heavily by Norman Conquests, who are said to have named the village Purlieu meaning "the outskirts of a forest" in Norman-french.

About Dibden Purlieu

This picturesque village in Hampshire has an approximate population of around 4,000 people and an echo of small-town charm at every corner. The regular Blue Star bus service provides Purlieu's quickest link with the city of Southampton, which is only 11.5 miles away. However, one of the area's main draws must be the New Forest. It sits within walking distance of the village and is an exceptional place of natural beauty, with excellent dog walks, hiking and walking trails for all. With a strong community spirit, outstanding sports facilities, convenient amenities and easy commuting, it's an area that is deservedly sought-after among those looking to buy in the area.

The Dibden Purlieu Community

Dibden Purlieu has several local amenities, including a convenience store, a post office and independent shops. The city of Southampton is just over 10 miles away and is accessible by car or bus, while the town of Hythe is just 3 minutes by bus and is accessible by foot. There is plenty to do in the area; for city life, seaside views and a thriving port Southampton has plenty to keep you occupied whether you are looking for a lively night out, dinner, local pubs, shopping, kids activities or scenic walks. As Dibden Purlieu sits on the outskirts of the New Forest, if you are looking for camping, hiking, water sports, long walks, and nature adventures, it is hard to find somewhere better than the New Forest.

We used RE/MAX for the sale of our property. RE/MAX was very helpful from start to finish, always there at the end of the phone when needed. Always chasing for updates. They have been truly amazing! Their costs are also very good value for money when you consider the service they provide. I would highly recommend!

A very friendly, in-depth market appraisal. Lots of information was provided about the reason for the valuation and advice on what improvements should or shouldn’t be made if planning to sell the house soon. Overall a very helpful guide on what our house is currently worth. If we decide to sell we would definitely use RE/MAX.
