Did you know…

In the twentieth century, an incredibly scandalous incident involving a British politician dominated the headlines and is still referred to now. The Profumo Affair became one of the most infamous scandals to come out of the House of Commons (hard to believe, right!?)

What's Lemsford's connection? I hear you cry - a well-to-do society osteopath born in 1912 in Lemsford was a key figure embroiled in the scandal; making matters worse, his father was the vicar of Lemsford during that time. Though seemingly not that uncommon now, the scandal brought about a lot of controversy and upheaval within parliament.

About Lemsford

Though unclear when the first settlement occurred, we know that the village became a parish in 1858. Throughout the years, Lemsford has flourished into a wonderful small community with a quiet village feel. This small village links with neighbouring towns, including St. Albans, Watford and Potters Bar. Lemsford is just 20 miles north of London and has easy connections by road and rail to all major cities in the UK. Sitting next to the A1 and just a few miles from several railway stations, residents can take their pick when it comes to travels to Hertford, London, Stevenage and further afield.

The Lemsford Community

Though incredibly well linked with the rest of Hertfordshire and beyond, the village is home to many accessible amenities, including local pubs and shops, making it a little haven for its residents. Most noteworthy, of course, is Lemsford Nature Reserve. This spectacular natural splendour is home to several lagoons that host species of birds that flourish in this environment. With popular hotspots for residents and visitors alike, Knebworth House, Heartwood Forest and Lakes, including Albans and Willows, are attractive reasons to visit the local area. This little gem is perfect for residents and visitors who want ease and accessibility, with plenty to do a short distance away and a homely, quiet village feel in the heart of Lemsford.

We used RE/MAX for the sale of our property. RE/MAX was very helpful from start to finish, always there at the end of the phone when needed. Always chasing for updates. They have been truly amazing! Their costs are also very good value for money when you consider the service they provide. I would highly recommend!

A very friendly, in-depth market appraisal. Lots of information was provided about the reason for the valuation and advice on what improvements should or shouldn’t be made if planning to sell the house soon. Overall a very helpful guide on what our house is currently worth. If we decide to sell we would definitely use RE/MAX.
