Midway between St. Albans and Luton sits Harpenden's town and civil parish. The commuter town has direct links to London and is known to be a trendy choice to live amongst London's City commuters. Once mostly woodland, this village grew into the town we see today through centuries of gradual farming and woodland clearing.
